OK guys, now there's a shelf full of bears to play with at http://worldofbears.net/bears.html
There is more good news to share.
As requested long ago, the big hairless bear no longer need stay on top. Double-click on your bear of choice to bring it to the front. Don't forget to save!
Very good news today.
Perhaps you remember some bears you may drag and drop:

Well now you can save those bears' positions, to come back later to where you left off. Simply hit the "Save" button when you're satisfied with the arrangement of the bears. That'll do the trick.
Stay tuned for more exciting developments. Perhaps we'll add some shelves to put the bears on, for when you want to tidy up.
A testimonial from a formerly grumpy bear is up at http://worldofbears.net/testimonials.txt -- and you might also want to know about a panda hugging a lion!
An astute reader alerts us to some breaking bear news:
"The birth of a wild bear may be shown live on the internet, scientists hope" -- "in the coming days"!

If any readers would like to liveblog this exciting event please contact me by email or phone ASAP. I can provide you with the needed liveblogging tools. Unfortunately I have a job and will be unable to attend.
I know it's been a long time but I have something for you here:
http://worldofbears.net/reading_a_story.html
It's our newest story here at WorldOfBears.net!
Hope you'll stay a while!
Well would you take a look at this:

That's right folks, we've got a new testimonial for the new year and it's from our very own mother!
Another visual change happened today. Now all the text printed in the site is light blue by default. It seems easier on the eyes, but I don't know.
Let me know if you have any other ideas. We'll keep tweaking this until it's right, I can tell you that much.
And while I've got your ear: a happy new year, from all the bears here!
Well guess what. Today we have decorated the place, and isn't it just a charm?
Welcome to the World of Bears, and make yourself at home!
Today we completed a very large software upgrade on this site. The highlight: this page is now powered by a lovely blog software by one of our readers. That means from now on you can follow our progress on RSS which is to be found here: http://worldofbears.net/news.html/rss
Digby says it's good news for panda lovers so I think we can all have a very merry Christmas here at WorldOfBears.net!
An astute reader, writing from a foreign land, sends a photo of these bears. They're sideways, but I hope you won't mind.
WorldOfBears.net has published its first work: Time & the Bear: a short tale. Please enjoy.
I have added a page to collect testimonials and comments: http://worldofbears.net/testimonials.txt
Many of you have asked how to drag and drop the bears in the third dimension so that "the big hairless bear [doesn't] always stay on top."
The answer is that this feature is pending.
I am thinking of using doubleclicks to move a bear closer in the z-axis. But I have not yet begun to investigate this, and I am open to other user interfaces.
I hope to add the feature this weekend. Patches are welcome (preferably using jQuery)
Hey guys,
I've added a new bear you can drag and drop:
http://worldofbears.net/bears.html
It's from this article about bears who are having problems with their hair:
I thought we all might like to drag and drop that bear, to show support.
